6th Dec - St Nicholas Day - this is a Christian festival for children, celebrated in most of the European countries, it is related to the Saint Nicholas known as a bringer of gifts.

9th-16th Dec - Hanukkah - also known as the Festival of Lights,  eight-day Jewish holiday commemorating the re-dedication of the holy Temple in Jerusalem following the Jewish victory over the Syrian-Greeks in 165 B.C.E.

24th Dec - Christmas Eve – the day before Christmas Day, celebrating the birth of  Jesus Christ.  It is traditional to serve fish meals for dinner.


25th DecChristmas Day - commemoration of the birth of Jesus Christ and of course turkey time!

26th DecBoxing Day – day after Christmas, celebrated as a holiday in parts of the British Commonwealth, when Christmas gifts are traditionally given to service workers.
